Privacy Policy

Databuddy is dedicated to sending your messages, not your personal information. And while we spread your messages, we don’t want to distribute spam. So we’ve established a strict set of guidelines to protect both your privacy and the privacy of those who receive your messages.

Permission and Use

While we collect your personal information, we’ll keep it safe. We need to have your information on file to set up and manage your account and for billing purposes. Under no circumstances, however, will we sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party organization. Only in the event that your information must be disclosed to a government agency as required by law will we ever share your personal information.
Databuddy will need to collect personal data for credit card and billing purposes. This information may be transmitted to a third-party intermediary to manage the credit card and billing processing. This intermediary is only a link in the distribution chain and is not permitted to store, retain, or use the information provided, except for the sole purpose of credit card and billing processing.
We will occasionally collect information about your company pertaining to your use of the Databuddy platform. We need to analyze our customers’ use of our services to determine how to better serve their needs. We will keep track of your activity on our website on log files on our secure servers and will collect information such as IP addresses, browser types, and page views. This information is collected to better understand your use of our website and to determine ways to optimize our online interface.
We may employ other companies and individuals to perform tasks on our behalf and may need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you. Examples may include delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mail, removing excess information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. We may also provide your personal information to agents who will use it to verify aggregate usage data that we provide to our partners.
We’ll also look to your information for ways to better promote your business. While we may furnish reports that contain information regarding your company’s use of our services, they will always contain only aggregate data and never include any identifiable information about your company or any of your employees with your express permission.
At the same time, we respect the privacy of anyone who receives an e-mail through Databuddy. That means we won’t sell, rent, or share any of our customer lists with other parties. We also won’t permit any of our customers to purchase or rent lists for use with the Databuddy platform. Databuddy’s messaging service delivers only permission-based e-mail, meaning we serve only opt-in newsletter lists and always offer the option to unsubscribe from any of our customers’ lists. Options to opt-out will be shown after a user initially signs up for a list and will be included in every e-mail.

Contacts with Databuddy

Occasionally, we will send you e-mails. We will need to contact you for account information and matters pertaining to your use of the Databuddy platform. We will also inform you of new services or features that have become available. We may also ask you a few questions about your satisfaction with our services to better suit your needs and the needs of our other customers. Some e-mails will go to your entire company, and some will go just to you. We may ask you if you would like to receive messages from some of our partners, but your permission will always be required before anyone else sends you anything. We don’t spam your customers, and we certainly won’t spam ours.
We have many partners and as we try to improve our business, they will look to improve their own. We may send offers to some customers on behalf of our business partners, but we will never give your personal or identifiable information to any partner. If you do not wish to receive offers from our business partners, you will always have the option of unsubscribing from partner mailings.

These beacons only collect the unique cookie values, the time and date of access, and the particular page viewed. In e-mails, you can decline web beacons by refusing to view HTML images or selecting Text-only e-mails.

Your Content

Databuddy will ensure that your lists, e-mail content, and data reports are kept private. Just as we don’t permit any customer to sell or trade any list through our service, we will never sell or trade your lists. We will manage all of your content, including imagery, page templates, web content, and archived newsletters, on our secure and redundant servers to make sure your content stays your content. While we will review and monitor your lists, content, and reports to make sure you follow our Terms of Service and to ensure we fully suit your needs, we will never share any information with any third party.

Our website may provide links to other sites, including some of our customers, business partners, and other third parties. These other parties are not under the control of Databuddy, and any link to a third party site does not mean that Databuddy endorses that company or any of its content. Should you follow through to these websites, we will have no control over the information or policies inherent for these pages. Other parties associated with us may collect your information, so be sure to review the privacy policy of any other party’s website you may view.

Changes to Policy

This policy was updated in July, 2008. Our policy may change due to market changes, the needs of our customers, our needs as a company, or legal matters. We will inform all of our customers via our website of any such changes that may occur to our privacy policy.
